Vantaan Energia announces plans for an underground thermal energy storage facility that could heat a city for 12 months. It will be approximately 140m underground and will be size of two soccer stadiums and with a grant of €19 million already secured from the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Vantaan Energia estimates the construction cost to be around 200 million euros.
